Having a cat can mean different things to different people. Some want a cat to cuddle and sit on their laps; others are happy to live with a very independent cat which spends most of its time outside and doesn’t want too much human interaction.

Cats are naturally inquisitive animals and while most will enjoy happy lives free from danger, their curiosity can get them into scrapes from time to time. As a responsible owner, you’ll want to do all you can to protect against unfortunate incidents. You also have a legal duty of care to provide for your cat’s needs and ensure they are protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease.

The cold weather can present a few risks to our feline friends however, so it is important you're prepared. The cat is out of the bag!

on July 5th, we took a call from our friends at Vets Now, a couple found 3 kittens, tangled up under their shed. They quite rightly left them to see if mum was around but over 24 hours on she was nowhere to be seen, so they took them to the surgery. Could we help? Yes. Our volunteers Trudi and Mark set off immediately to collect them.

Our plan yesterday was to take the night off, clean the pen, and breathe a little after our last batch of little ones were adopted out earlier that day…

On Monday, June 1st 2020, Mark and Trudi found a family of kittens and their mother, living as (what we assumed to be ferals) under a collapsed stable…

Please meet Nelson.
In January of this year, We received a call from a a member of the public living in Gosport. Nelson has been living in their garden for the past couple of months and has been fed. Last week they noticed his injury and got him to Heathside Vets straight away…

In early December of 2019, two seriously underweight cats, thought to be brother and sister due to their face shape and the fact that they were found in the same area, were brought to us in need of immediate veterinary attention…

On March 3rd, three tiny babies, hours old, had been ‘found’ by an anonymous person and handed in to the vet, who asked if we could help. It consisted of a Tabby girl weighed at 97g, a Grey Boy weighed at 111g and another Grey Boy weighing in at 79g…

On the night of the 26th of February, the team where called on a mother cat and her 7 babies, part of a huge intake from one house that evening…
